Day 1

We finally started our big adventure!  We left later than anticipated, mostly because of the unplanned time change, but also because all the neighbors came over to see us off, and they all wanted a tour of "The Beast".   Then there was the auto accident and highway construction, both at the same place, that slowed us down on the DC beltway.  We didn't arrive at our destination, south of Roanoke Rapids, NC, until 6:45 p.m.  The weather is beautiful down here!  The trees are blooming, and the temperature was balmy at 7 p.m.


Wifi is slow here.  I plan to post once a day, but it may depend on the Internet connections we are able to get.

The neighbors from across the street took our photo as we were leaving.  We look excited, don't we?
