TPC Sawgrass (Golf Club)

This is going to be quick, because I am very tired tonight.  We spent most of the day at "The Players" golf tournament just south of Jacksonville, and it was very hot, over 90 degrees.  Here's the scoop:

The club house, above.  Pretty impressive.

Lee watched the golfers, I watched the wildlife.  There were several osprey on the grounds, and their nests.  In the photo below, there is an osprey nest in the tree on the right, about three limbs down from the top.  The golf course has several ponds and large lakes, with apparently enough fish to support the rather large population of ospreys.

All these photos, by the way, were taken with my iPhone, so they aren't great.  I saw my first Black-crowned Night Heron here, but the photograph isn't good enough to post.  It's that adage, again, that I find wildlife in the most unexpected places.

The guy in the light blue shirt, above, is Phil Mickelson.  We saw Tiger Woods too, but didn't get any good shots of him.

The guy on the far left, in the light blue shirt, is Sergio Garcia.

And finally, Vijay Singh.  There are a lot of big-name players at this tournament.

That's it for today.  We are heading north tomorrow, to see Savannah, which we missed on the way down.  The smoke from Okefenokee Swamp is supposed to head this way tomorrow, so it seems like a good time to leave.  When we arrived on Sunday, the fire had burned 44,000 acres.  As of tonight, it has burned 91,000 and has moved south across the Georgia border into Florida.
